1,4-BDO&GBL
The process of synthesis of 1,4- butanediol (BDO) by “Reppe process” was invented by Reppe et al., of I.G.(predecessor of BASF), Germany, in the 1930s and successfully industrialized in 1940. This is the main process for the industrial production of BDO at present, whose global production capacity exceeds 3 million tons.
